About Dodge Creative :: Part I

Hello and Welcome to Dodge Creative! My name is John Swee and I would love to be your Photographer!! I started out as a Graphic Designer, learning mad photoshop skills, the intricacies of printing and what it takes to make an image spectacular. I learned about light, composition and color. Then one day photography found me! A good friend saw some of my photos almost 5 years ago and asked if I would shoot her wedding. Not only did I photograph their beautiful wedding, but I also uncovered a passion for photography, light and the amazing potential that was there. Ever since, I haven’t been able to put down a camera and Photography is now my full-time job. I can’t wait to share something with you that I love so much. I am so very blessed to wake in the morning and capture the memories and the moments that are so important in all of our lives. Thanks for looking me up! I’d love to share more of my story over chai or Chipotle some time.

Peyton – Senior Session

This was seriously one of my favorite shoots to date! First off, Peyton, my first Senior Rep of the season is a good friend fromĀ Young Life, an organization we are deeply involved and believe in. She is an amazing person with a huge heart and it was so great to spend some time with her and hear a little more of her story. Second, my good friend and brilliant photographer Megan Daas took us to a stable where we could have spent hours with new areas to shoot. Third, I also had the benefit of having Quinn there to help assist me. She is also a friend from Young Life and she was so helpful to have around for the day. We had this crazy, cool location, great assistants, lovely model and a perfect day. Couldn’t ask for anything better.

Hayley

One of my Co-workers and friends was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma at the age of 24. I got to spend some time with her taking some portraits to help tell her story. These are a little preview of this amazing woman. My hope is that one day she will be able to show her kids these photos so they can see what strength really looks like and what courage really is in the face of trials and adversity.

She is in the midst of treatment and I am overwhelmed by her amazing attitude, heart and sense of humor. She is an inspiration and I can’t wait to tell you more of her story. Hear more from her HERE

Carson Maxwell – 6 Months

It has been so much fun watching this little guy grow over the last 6 months. It is amazing how much he has changed and yet stayed so much the same…I only wish I could have gotten him to smile:)
